  •     报载北京市中级人民法院严厉惩处泄密受贿罪犯张常胜、叶之枫,校园里闻者无不拍手称快。然而,细读报道之后,不少师生又埋怨记者没有把这件事报道好,以至读后‘悬念”顿生。

        著名新闻记者范长江给新闻下过一条颇有创见的定义:新闻即读者应知欲知而未知之事.可见新闻是用来解读者“悬念.的,而在新闻中忌留“悬念”。用这条定义来衡派这篇报道,那么记者至少还要回答读者两个问题。

        其一,叶之枫泄露国家重要机密,收受贿路之后,给国家造成的经济损失究竟有多少?有人说,报道中未写,说明未造成损失,判十七年,这是体现了“从重”;有人说,叶是副处长,上面还有处长、局长,哪容得她为所欲为,恐怕是及时觉察了,制止了,否则处长、局长一定会引咎辞职;有人则猜测,仅“利用职权施加压力,要我国有关公司接受某外商提出的价格”一事,给国家造成的损失恐恰就不是一个小数目,所以秘而不宣,是……于是小道传说此起彼伏。记者固然应借墨如金,而在骨节眼上,却还该有点国画家“泼墨”的气概,否则,留下一个不明不白的“悬念”,教人众口纷纭,莫衷一是,岂非因小失大?

        其二,叶犯的犯罪动机,以本人“小人之心”度之,恐怕不是出于政治目的,也不是为了“友谊”,而仅仅是为了钱。在本案的两名主犯中,叶犯的地位远远高于张犯,而情报来源又全出自叶犯,然而,何以张能获贿赂71万余之巨,而叶仅得二万五千余?是叶犯特别谦虚?是张犯特别厉害?或是外商特别糊涂,以致送礼送错了门庭?或是两犯别有勾结,另有所图,记者恐怕应当解释一番,加上一段“背景材料”。这一定是很精彩的。而记者忽地打住,事情就麻烦了,张犯既已枪决,叶犯是死无对证,“悬念”便成了“公案”一桩,奥妙只好留待历史学家去考证了,若千年以后,恐怕真能成为一篇博士论文呢!

        由此悟出一个道理,历史学家之所以永远有饭吃,就是因为总是有粗心的新闻记者.要是当初某记者顺手写上一笔“兰陵笑笑生即某地某某君是也”,又何劳今日教授们为《金瓶梅》的作者是谁纹尽脑汁?又由此想出一个主意,让新闻系学生多学点历史学、考证学,恐怕不无启发和收益。
